Prototype specialize in sourcing and manufacturing commercial furniture. We do not operate in the private or residential space.

Whilst we manufacture residential-style furniture such as bed heads, lounges and joineries, these items are produced at large commercial quantities for our Hotel Accommodation fit-out projects.

Prototype source products from national and international suppliers.  Lead times can vary depending on order quantity, shipping schedules, supplier stock and custom requirements. As a rule of thumb, all European imported items have a lead time between 12 to 16 weeks. All locally sourced or custom-made items between 4 to 6 weeks. 

We do hold a sample of stock in our Brisbane and Sydney warehouses. For smaller orders, the lead time can be faster if we have the quantities available in stock. Contact the Prototype team to discuss your order requirements. 

 

Prototype range of furniture is a collection of European imported or Australian made pieces. European products are predominately manufactured in Italy or Portugal. Prototype customize or manufacture directly from our Warehouse in Brisbane. Local furniture providers manufacture all products directly in Australia.

Prototype have skilled tradesmen in-house, who can transform your design vision in to reality. Our teams can assist with designing your custom piece, creating 3D drawings, building the prototype and project managing the manufacturing and installation process.

Prototype have CAD (computer-aided design) specialists in-house, to offer clients the opportunity to view their designs in a 3D model.

Shop drawings are generally used for larger commercial projects, if not provided by the architect or designer. Depending on the complexity of the project, shop drawings are not always included or necessary for every project. If required, the cost of the CAD services will be included in your project quote.

Prototype customization capabilities are nearly endless! Customization can be as simple as a new seat base on an imported chair, or a fully customized lounge, design and manufactured from start to finish.

Working to your budget and project specification, our dedicated Account Managers will work with our manufacturing teams to produce the furniture and commercial environment you have envisaged. With our in-house capabilities, our teams are equipped to deliver nearly any item of furniture - from bed heads and food carts, to banquettes and joineries! 

Prototype hold agreements with a carefully selected group of furniture manufacturers from around the world. Our criteria for suppliers emphasizes the importance of high quality manufacturing, ethical and sustainable material sourcing and innovation in design and style.

To ensure the quality and reliability, we limit our furniture providers to European or Australian manufacturers, some of which are Pedrali, Debi, Torre, Obodo, Paged Meble and Robert Thum. 

Prototype has offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Cairns and Singapore. Our geographical spread enables our teams to deliver projects in any location.

Prototype has warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.  Each warehouse holds a sample of products in stock for smaller orders. Our Brisbane warehouse if fully equipped with furniture manufacturing facilities and product showroom.

Prototype are equally proud to execute large scale projects or small one-off orders.  Whilst there is no maximum or minimum order quantity, there may be a delay on smaller orders coming from international suppliers. Our Account Managers can arrange air-freight if the orders is critical, otherwise the order will be aligned with our shipping schedules.  Every order, delivery location and client is different. We encourage you to contact the Prototype team to discuss your specific requirements. 

Prototype carry a small range of fabrics in-house, which are available to use on smaller orders. Generally we partner with major fabric houses to deliver large volume projects. Our Account Managers work with clients to agree the most suitable fabrics to suit the project, style, application and budget.

All of our upholstery orders are available with the option for COM. There are a few exceptions, where the fabric range is limited to the supplier’s standard range. Our Account Managers can advise on the different alternatives, depending on which furniture piece you are interested in or your project specifications.

Some international manufacturers do have minimum quantity requirements on their products. Depending on the product, this can range between 15 to 50 pieces. 

In some cases, Prototype have multiple clients interested in the same item so our Account Managers can collaborate to satisfy the minimum quantity criteria. This is managed on a case-by-case basis.
 

Yes, our logistics network enables delivery of stock to international clients, which is quoted on a case-by-case basis. We have previously delivered orders to the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Singapore.
